'Money makes the world go around'

I was scrolling through Instagram during the day and a few things caught my attention. I noticed how a majority of the people are all about making money whether it be through promoting a certain product, or by merely being an 'influencer'. Now don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying that wanting to make money is a sin, but what I am saying is that we need to have a heart check. "But they that will be rich fall into a temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. " - 1 Timothy 6: 9-10. I'd like to point a few things out about that passage of scripture: Firstly, it speaks of the rich and not the poor people. So poor people are excluded from the temptation that's mentioned above. Do you truly love Him?

One of the things that I do often that others consider "deep" is that I question myself. I question my motives. A recent question that I asked myself whilst listening to a song was this: "Do you truly love Him?" "Do you love Jesus?" I pondered the question for a while ... The reason for my pondering was not that I do not love Jesus, but it was simply because I did not want to lie to myself. There's nothing wrong with doing any of those things, but they are just not a good indication of whether or not someone loves Jesus.           "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him"- John 14:21 (KJV)                ...

Why are you letting your mind wander?

One moment you're thinking about how far you have come, the next is about the amount of work you still need to catch-up on, or what you will be having for lunch. The truth is that I have been guilty of doing this quite often. I have been guilty of letting my mind wander which has also had an impact on my emotions. What exactly does it mean to "let your mind wander?" According to Phrase Finder, it means to let whatever thought come into your mind without you directing those thoughts. This explanation makes something clear to us: we have to control our thought-life. How do we do that? Lets find out from the scriptures.  2 Corinthians 10:5 says "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."   "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought...
